Rise up

I would just like to say that politics will not make me rise up and determine my future.  I have a Savior that will make me rise and is constantly shaping my future.  I went to a concert the other weekend and an amazing song has such powerful words:

I will go, Lord send me, to the world, to the lost, to the poor and the hungry, take everything I am, I am clay in your hands, I will go, Lord send me.

I pray that I will not be blind with privilege and I will have eyes to see the pain.  I pray that the blessings that the Lord has given me will not go in vain and that my life will be used for change.

Grandma

I figured my first little blog would be a tribute to my grandma….

It is never easy saying good-bye to those we love and many times we shake our heads in disbelief knowing that they are gone.  But while we shake our heads, I know my Grandma is lifting her hands in worship.  While we are mourning here, I know my Grandma is marveling at Heaven.  And while some of us may question God, I know my Grandma is praising God singing her favorite hymns.  The Psalms says “Teach us how short our lives really are and make us wise.”  I believe my Grandma knew and understood this verse.  She lived her life as a devoted wife, loving mother, and caring grandma.  My Grandma did ordinary things with extraordinary love.  She constantly put others before herself and served by doing the little things.  My Grandma did not seek recognition; she knew how to use her life and the gifts God blessed her with.  There was never a smile too far from her face and everyone who knew her were touched by her kind spirit.  In the book of Titus there is a verse that says “In everything set an example by doing what is good.”  My Grandma loved and gived as Jesus did and I thank God that the heart of our family was a perfect example of Christ’s love and grace.  It is my hope one day that I will be just like my Grandma and carry on in her ways.  I will miss her, I will love her, and she will always be in my heart!
